Hall of Fame Columbus Day Challenge

The Columbus Day Challenge enters it's 4th straight year, providing teams with the opportunity to play in a competitive fall event. All championship games are played at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

When:

October 10-11th, 2009 - Game  Games will be played Saturday 8am - 9pm and Sunday 8am - 6pm, depening on number of teams.  Championship games will be played througout day on Sunday, with final game concluding before 6pm, held at the Basketball Hall of Fame

Because of SATs, we'll be starting the OPEN division after 2pm on Saturday.

Registration Deadline is October 3rd, 2008

Where:

  • Games will be played at Westfield State College, brand new 3 court facility.  There is also a 4th court available on the WSC campus.
  • Games will be played at American International College, 4 court facility, located in Springfield, Massachusetts.
  • Westfield State College is about 20 minutes Northwest of Downtown Springfield, about 20 minutes from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.  AIC is about 5-10 from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
  • All championship games will be played at the Basketball Hall of Fame for each division, with possible exception to the 17u and open divisions.

 

Who:

Grade Divisions 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th.  All teams will compete in the same division that they will play in during the spring and summer of 2010.

When signing up, please register by age group for 2010.  AAU and travel teams are eligible to compete. 

About Event:

  • All teams will be guaranteed 3 games, 2 in pool play and 1 in bracket play.  Everyone will compete in 3 team pools (when applicable) with winners going to gold bracket, 2nd place finishers advancing to silver bracket and 3rd place teams advancing to bronze bracket.
